The Langham Chicago, a premier luxury hotel, sought to strengthen its position in the competitive Chicago hospitality market and expand its national presence. The hotel needed to adapt its storytelling to meet the needs of an evolving travel media landscape to showcase its exceptional service, unique amenities and distinctive design characteristics as a leading luxury hotel in America.

Agency H5’s programming centered on the influence of high-powered press coverage in luxury travel, beauty and F&B media to fuel the brand’s elevated profile. Custom and curated individual media visits sparked exclusive coverage opportunities while the agency developed clever, timely property programming that tapped into “bleisure” travel, wellness experiences and luxury personalization to secure on-trend stories in high-profile national outlets.  

Results

In 2023 alone, Agency H5 coordinated 13 curated media stays with carefully selected journalists from prestigious publications such as Robb Report, Travel + Leisure and Forbes and drove more than 50 earned media stories helping drive the property’s reputation as a top luxury hotel in Chicago and the U.S. The property’s elevated coverage helped set the stage for The Langham Chicago to be recognized as Chicago’s #1 luxury hotel by Travel + Leisure in 2024.
