To introduce LA-based Innovative Dining Group’s restaurant, Katana, H5 executed a high-impact grand opening strategy that included a fruitful pre/post media relations and influencer program, star-studded party in partnership with Tesla and ongoing community engagement.
Establishing a celebrity halo from the very beginning was important to the brand so H5 strategically recommended opening the day before Lollapalooza to capitalize on the celebrity presence in the city. Guests like Shad Moss (better known as Bow Wow), “Empire’s” Serayah, the cast of “Hamilton”, Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls and slews of other entertainers and athletes were in attendance, along with a group of influential highly influential Chicagoans.
Media coverage around the opening was seen in local news outlets, including Michigan Avenue, CS and Chicago SPLASH, reaching one of their core demographics. To appeal to the “younger” crowd, H5 also executed a social influencer campaign with foodies and lifestyle tastemakers to generate word-of-mouth exposure.
