Kathleen Sarpy
Owner + Founder
“I’m proud to have built an organization that allows others to be ‘human’ and ‘happy’ at work (the H in H5) that is rooted in our core values of kindness, creativity, passion, hustle and integrity.”
In 2001, after the birth of her first child and seven months pregnant with her second child — Kathleen left her “big agency” life to launch H5 in her suburban basement. The goal was simple: offer world-class strategy and unbridled creativity to the world’s most respected companies by eliminating bureaucracy without ever sacrificing kindness or focusing on motherhood.
Along the way, Kathleen has never lost sight of the “5” values that are the foundation of the agency: kindness, creativity, passion, hustle and integrity.
Today, with unrivaled energy and enthusiasm, Kathleen is the mother of six and manages an incredibly talented team of professionals in a growing agency that is recognized alongside the best PR firms in the world.
Beyond her professional commitments, Kathleen provides mentorship and empowering future generations of female leaders. She also proudly supports several civic organizations and local philanthropies, including: Girl Scouts, Ronald McDonald House Charities and CC’s Wishlist among others. She is proud Distinguished Alumni and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Purdue University, and she founded the Purdue Women’s Network in 2017 to unite, motivate, engage and inspire 200,000 alumni worldwide. She also was proud to be inducted into the 2024 class of Purdue Old Masters, recognized her commitment to mentorship.
Kathleen says he biggest and proudest achievement is being a mother of six incredible children ages 25-16. She resides in Wheaton, Illinois with her husband Chris.
