Driving Visibility for Non-Profit’s Expansion of Service

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) opened a new Ronald McDonald House within the Renee Schine Crown Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women's Hospital as the organization celebrated its 45th anniversary of helping families get better together. Just 14 months later in October 2023, the organization opened a new 4,000 square-foot Ronald McDonald Family Room® inside Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge - located adjacent to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Children's hematology/oncology Infusion Center. 

THE ASK

Drive awareness of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland’s service expansion over a two-year period, specifically the organization’s new House inside of Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital and Family Room inside Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge.

 

 

APPROACH

Focused strategy on amplifying the RMHC-CNI message of helping families get better together with a strong CTA to engage volunteers and supporters. We leveraged the organization’s CEO, as well as families who benefited from RMHC-CNI to tell their story about the importance of the organization’s expansion of services. 

RESULTS

Drive awareness and secure media coverage in local Chicago-area outlets to keep organization’s fund-raising efforts top of mind with local area residents and corporate donors. 

  • Media Attention: Earned 40 media placements in local Chicago broadcast and print outlets; generating 177 million media impressions among the Chicagoland area.
