Throughout the year, H5 partners closely with The Langham to develop and promote compelling programming designed to drive guest bookings and capture media attention. From coordinating press visits to securing consistent media coverage, our efforts spotlight the hotel’s standout amenities, including its refined afternoon tea, the award-winning Travelle restaurant and bar (designed by David Rockwell), the tranquil, Asian-inspired Chuan Spa, and the exclusive 12th-floor club lounge.
THE ASK
The Langham, Chicago, a premier luxury hotel, aimed to reinforce its position in the competitive Chicago hospitality market while expanding its national visibility. The challenge was to effectively communicate the hotel’s unique offerings and adapt to shifting travel trends and media consumption habits, particularly as the landscape continued to evolve post-pandemic.

APPROACH
H5 developed and executed a comprehensive media relations campaign designed to elevate The Langham’s profile through high-impact, earned media coverage. Key elements of the strategic approach included:
- Prioritizing individual press visits over traditional group trips to meet the growing demand for personalized, exclusive coverage.
- Targeting a curated mix of national and local media contacts across luxury travel, beauty, food & beverage, and lifestyle verticals.
- Coordinating 13 strategic press visits in 2023 with top-tier outlets, such as Robb Report, Forbes, and Travel + Leisure.
- Creating newsworthy, trend-aligned programming that reflected modern luxury travel trends, including “bleisure” experiences, wellness offerings, and bespoke guest personalization.
RESULTS
